Art Presenters!
This is an exciting new project for Bolton Library, Museum and Archive Service, supported by NADFAS (National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies) and Bolton DFAS (Bolton Decorative and Fine Arts Societies).
This project:
- Aimed to identify ways in which the Museum can support young people in developing their talents so that they become more involved in the Museum but also the local community.
- During January to March 2010 a small group of young people from Mount Saint Joseph Business and Enterprise College, Bolton, took part in six two-hour sessions at the Museum after school.
- During this time, the young people researched and explored the Art collection and the Art Gallery, then created their own personalised presentations using a varied range of presentation styles.
The project culminated in a celebration event in the Spring of 2010 when the young people were given the opportunity to deliver their presentations to friends, family, members of NADFAS and Bolton DFAS. In addition, two of the young people chose to deliver their presentation to the public during the Easter holidays!
