Summer Reading Challenge at Bolton Libraries
Go cosmic for this year’s summer reading challenge at Harwood Library. Activities include drawing rockets, a story writing competition, make a bookmark, design an alien, and add to the space story scroll. Suitable for ages 4 – 11.

'More than just a shop'- The Co-operative movement in Bolton - free lunchtime talk at Bolton Museum
With Ben Whittaker, Collections Rationalisation Officer. Talks are from 1pm to 1.30pm in Learning Studio 1 in Bolton Museum, Aquarium and Archive. Complimentary tea and coffee provided.

Family Film Festival and activities - 'Little Mermaid' free showing at Bolton Museum
Join us as we take part in this year’s regional Family Film Festival. Each day there are free film screenings, craft activities and storytelling to tie in with the museum’s collection. Join us for ‘Fishy Friday’ with a screening of The Little Mermaid, fishy crafts and stories.

Join in with storytelling especially for the under fives. All toddler tales sessions are free and there is no need to book.

Family Film Festival and activities - 'Ponyo' free showing at Bolton Museum
Join us as we take part in this year’s regional Family Film Festival. Each day there are free film screenings, craft activities and storytelling to tie in with the museum’s collection. Join us for Japanese Day with a screening of Ponyo, Japanese netsuke making and stories.

Victorian Ghost Stories! at Smithills Hall
A family friendly storytelling session with popular local storyteller, Simon Entwistle. Simon will be telling tales of creepy goings-on from the Victorian era. Tickets are £8 adults and £4 children / concessions. Light refreshments provided.

Every Thursday from 29 July to 2 September, 1pm to 4pm

Summer Sunshine Crafts at Hall i' th' Wood museum
Take part in a different craft activity each Thursday afternoon during the summer holidays. Free entry for children (£2 adults, £1 concessions).

This months guest speaker is Margaret Curry. Admission is free to members and £1.50 to non-members.

Bolton Food and Drink Festival 2010
This year, celebrity TV chefs The Hairy Bikers, James Martin and Gino D’Acampo will be heading to Bolton and the Festival’s been extended to four days – giving you even more opportunity to sample and savour.
